Successfully losing weight and successfully keeping it off are two very different things.
Unless we continue on with the new habits and patterns that created our thinner, fitter body, we will inevitably gain it back.
We might gain it back slowly - over months, even years.
We might gain it back quickly – even quicker than the time it took to lose it.
And sometimes we not only gain back what we lost, but we gain even more.
And then the shame sets in and we feel paralyzed to pick up the tools again.
But there is hope.
The common denominator in both losing weight and gaining it back is the stories we tell ourselves. Some stories we are well aware of. Some stories are hidden in our subconscious and we need only ask the right questions to draw them out. Once they are out in the open, we can decide which stories serve us and which ones don’t. We can then craft new stories that support us in the direction we want to go.
